SPACE PROPULSION / SYSTEMS ENGINEERING / TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP

Engineering systems from concept to test.

I’m Agzam Mussayev, a space propulsion design and test engineer working across mechanical hardware, system interfaces, prototyping and test operations.

My portfolio covers Magdrive’s SuperMagdrive refuelling hardware, Stargate vacuum testing, and fluid-system design for CranSEDS / Race2Space’s 2 kN hybrid rocket engine.

Selected work

Three projects. Three engineering contexts.

Explore engineering decisions, personal contributions and outcomes across three propulsion projects.

Working approach

Make the problem testable. Let evidence guide the next decision.

I develop engineering systems from concept through design, prototyping, integration and testing. That means defining requirements, comparing concepts, resolving interfaces, and using test evidence to identify what works and what still needs development.

The projects span ground-based mechanical testing, vacuum-facility operations and hybrid-engine integration, with decisions informed by hands-on engineering and test evidence.

Core engineering capabilities

Hands-on engineering with system-level thinking.

From requirements and interfaces through hardware design, integration and test.

01

Systems engineering

Requirements definition, concept selection, interface definition and traceability.

02

Mechanical design

CAD, mechanism design, tolerance-aware interfaces and rapid prototyping.

03

Propulsion systems

Solid-metal propellant handling and hybrid-rocket oxidiser fluid systems.

04

Integration and test

Partner-hardware integration, benchtop testing and vacuum-facility operations.

05

Technical decisions

Engineering trade-offs, evidence-led iteration, risk identification and clear limits.
